Sandook were mainly recorded in the northern parts of Haryana. This sandook made of teak wood belonged to the owner’s mother, who had brought it from Sirsa, during her wedding. The front facade and the shutters had a grid design, formed by fixing smaller panels of wood together. The sandook was raised up from the floor and the space underneath was used to store a number of household items.
