A staff carved from wood titled, Gabriel's Staff by the South African artist Jackson Hlungwani (1923-2010). The staff depicts a bearded man with the staff head apparently the face of the Angel Gabriel according to Hlungwani. Short Biography: Jackson Hlungwani was born in 1923 in Mashamba Village in Venda (today the Limpopo Province) in northern South Africa. He was taught by his father and believed he was a reincarnation of his Grandfather Bhandi Pavalala. He was the founder of the Yesu Galilea One Aposto in Sanyoni Alt and Omega Church in New Jerusalem, a site located in Mbhokota in the Limpopo Province. Hlungwani practised as both a priest and and artist.
