The iconic representation of Lakshmi goes back to 2nd century B.C. The word `Lakshmi' signifies beauty, is a mark of power, luck, prosperity, grace, happiness, royal domain and good fortune. Lakshmi is also regarded as divine. She is Shakti (energy), Prakriti (nature), Grace (daya), Kirti (celebrity), Jaya (success) and Maya (creative). Lakshmi is also associated with elephants. Elephant are a symbol of fertility, royal splendour and authority.
