’Galanda' is a wide wreath made of artificial flowers, leaves, fruit and icicles. Behind the galanda, a round 'wienuszek' is pinned to cover the two meeting ends. Under the ’galanda', ribbons are worn, and the so-called 'okrącka' made of wadding or specially pinned maid's plaits. On the side of the head, flaps made of ribbons, the so-called 'klapy' are pinned. ’Galanda' was pinned on with hairpins called 'widły'. In the back, below the 'wienuszek', a bow was pinned, from which two long ribbon ends flowed downwards, called 'szlajfy'. ’Galanda' originated in the interwar period (1930s).
