game: Blowing Soap Bubbles

In the late 1800s and early 1900s, soap-bubble parties were becoming quite fashionable. This game provided all the pieces necessary for making a friendly competition out of blowing bubbles. This party game was likely intended to facilitate interaction and provide entertainment based on the participants' ability to blow pipe bubbles. The instructions advised that "when using the pipe it is best to keep the recess of the pipe head down when blowing." The instructions also touted that when the bubbles were "released from the straw or pipe by a thrust...it is a great joy to see the bubble rise all the more where it has adopted all the colors of the rainbow."
