The famed toy designers Marvin Glass and Associates had a hand in designing the game Gnip Gnop for Parker Brothers in 1971. Clever design made it rather like a table tennis game enclosed by a plastic shield. Players hit their plastic buttons to knock their balls into their opponent's side of the game. In the words of the television commercial "The problem is, while you're gnipping, he's gnopping. And that's the fun of Gnip Gnop." The game featured colors from the early 1970s and it's box carried a psychodelic design. Today it is produced by Fundex Toys in more contemporary colors. Few people recognize that the name is actually Ping Pong spelled backwards.
