The early days of the game Yahtzee, published in 1956, are mingled with an earlier game called Yacht which played nearly identically except for some scoring variations. Enter the game Guffy, copyrighted in New Mexico in 1952. There are unique scoring differences but the game plays essentially the same as Yahtzee--players roll dice to score different point values for specific dice combinations. Did Guffy ever achieve the success of Yahtzee?
