"The Howdy Doodty Show" ran on NBC television from 1947 until 1960. The show pioneered many firsts in the then-young medium of television. One of the first programs created especially for children, "Howdy Doody" achieved near instant popularity. Spin-off products and advertising gimmicks followed its fame. Parker Brothers produced this dexterity game in 1949. A simple bowling-target game, its targets represent four of the program's main characters. Other makers produced other games, based on the program, over the years.
