Dance shows on television were all the rage in the 1960s. Popular programs like "American Bandstand" and "Your Hit Parade" had teens bopping all afternoon. The shows even made prime time, first with "Shindig" on ABC in 1964, then "Hullabaloo" on NBC in 1965. While the shows kept kids up to date on the latest steps, games like this "Hullabaloo" Electric Teen Game kept them on their toes. A trivia game about contemporary pop culture, the game used 12 double-sided fact "records" to test teens' knowledge of popular TV shows, song titles, "Swinging Groups," "Solid Hits," and, of course, "Beatlemania." (Stars as big as the Beatles, however, never appeared on the show.) In the time-sensitive world of teen music, dance fads and popular groups changed from day to day, making it tough to keep up with the latest fashion. As a result, "Hullabaloo" was as short-lived as the show from which it had spun. Both "Shindig" and "Hullabaloo" went off the air after a mere 18 months.
