Bernie DeKoven is an American game designer, author, lecturer and fun theorist. He is best known for authoring "The Well Played Game" and for his contributions to the New Games Foundation. He did pioneering work in computer game design and maintains a website, deepFUN.com.Building on an idea he had while participating in a conference of the Simulation Gaming Association (SSA) in 2007, he co-developed Junkyard Games. His initial version involved simulating tabletop Olympic events using objects found in players' pockets. The current production version provides three bags of found objects for three teams to simulate certain situations or events. The game is especially useful for business team-building excercises.
