During the early 20th century, question and answer card and board games flourished. The Knapp Electric Corp. manufactured a successful electric questioning game which operated with a battery. At that time, batteries were known as "cells" and they were identified by their measuredments. If players answered a question correctly and touched the proper contact on the game's board, a buzzer sounded.
