Capitalizing on the success of its game Scrabble, the game maker Selchow & Righter produced "Scrabble Brand Crossword/Dominoes Game" in 1976. The only relation to Scrabble is the shape of the letter tiles and similar scoring. In reality, the game is a domino game with letters making words instead of matching point values. Although it probably "combines the fascination of dominoes with the fun of creating crosswords," the game never seemed to become a big-seller. It does help represent the popularity and endurance of both the Scrabble brand and classic dominoes.
