"Eye and Ear Lesson No. 2: Kings of the Jews," a teaching card game made about 1930, is meant to instruct children. Some adults viewed card games as idle time-wasters or worse during the late 19th century and even after 1900. But few could object to this deck because it taught Old Testament facts. The game, marked "A Sunday Occupation for the Young," taught about the twelve tribes of Israel and the names of the kings.
