Bernie DeKoven is an American game designer, author, lecturer and fun theorist. He is best known for authoring "The Well Played Game" and for his contributions to the New Games Foundation. He did pioneering work in computer game design and maintains a website, deepFUN.com. He originated a version of the famous Hanoi Tower dexterity puzzle, which was invented in 1883, based on supposed historical precidents. A mathematical puzzle, the Hanoi Tower is one of the most famous of this type. Small versions were commonly constructed during the WPA era and afterwards. KeKoven's idea took the puzzle further. He made is large enough to involve phsical movements, of the entire body, in the solving motions. A school supply manufacturer made and carried the new excercise puzzle.
