"A Garden Agaricus with Xylaria polymorpha
In vernal phase - Within a day, their rosy gills darken to deepest umber, their pink neck frills turn ashen from falling spores. With them Xylaria polymorpha, likewise a colour change marvel; in vernal phase these Dead Man's Fingers emerge suavely gloved in sage green suede."
