Meléndez focuses on the top of buildings, from where neither the street nor people walking can be seen, as if observing everything from the window of a room high above on the other side of the sidewalk, making the neighbors’ bedrooms and roofs visible. These fragments of landscapes present an environment of silence and loneliness. He uses a palette filled with shades of blue, which he applies with soft brushstrokes in broad areas.
