This is a tool used for digging out garlic cultivated in the field. It had a triangular metal blade in the same shape as that of a single-blade spear, connected to the shaft by a cylindrical socket. The shaft was fastened to the handle at a right angle to allow an easy grip. The length of the blade was made to be longer than the shaft, which made it easy to dig out garlic roots growing deep down into the ground.
