Garín 1820 is a company with two hundred years of tradition, whose hand-woven silk business has continued uninterrupted throughout its history. In 1820, Mr Mariano Garín Aguilar opened the first factory in Valencia, where several members of the family worked. This was the beginning of an industry that has survived through several generations and stages. In the beginning, the company produced mainly velvets, brocades, brocateles and espadrilles woven by hand, which gave the company prestige and made it a reference point. But it would also weave plush, ribbons, tapestries and satins.

Garín makes Valencian espolines and traditional designs on hand looms, which in the 19th century were associated with all kinds of religious ornaments and later with traditional Valencian costumes, which are still woven today. They always use silk of excellent quality, both for the warp and the weft, and the metals we use in these fabrics are spun in Spain with a metal base and a gold or silver plating that blackens over time and gives them the "flavour" of antique metals.
