The origins of Karpniki Castle are shrouded in many legends. One of them says that the castle remained built by the Templar Order in 1160. This is evidenced by the fact that the Templars they built castles or defensive farms on a square plan, surrounded by walls with small walls towers. Moreover, these buildings were surrounded by a moat and a natural or artificial reservoir water. Adding to the mystery is the information that in the 19th century, Countess von Reden from nearby Bukowca received a well called the Well from the owners of Karpniki for their park Templars, which once stood in the castle courtyard.
