Membership book of the Gewerkschaft Christlicher Saarbergleute (literally: "Union of Christian Saar miners"). The Gewerkschaft Christlicher Saarbergleute was founded in 1947 for political reasons and at the behest of the chairman of the Christliche Volkspartei, Johannes Hoffmann. More Christian unions of other branches in the Saarland soon followed suit.
