This photograph was taken in the Fitting Shop at the Charles Ruwolt engineering works in Richmond, Melbourne. It shows a man standing alongside three gearboxes manufactured for North Broken Hill Ltd. The gearboxes drove 48 x 20 wet crushing rolls, which liberated minerals (silver, lead and zinc) from mined ore.
