General A.A. Vandergrift’s 1st Marine Division Patch and Ribbon Bar

This Australian manufactured 1st Marine Division patch belonged to division commander, Alexander
Archer Vandegrift. The general would ultimately receive both the Navy Cross and Medal of Honor for his
leadership during the battle for Guadalcanal.
