General History of the Deeds of the Castilians on the Islands and Mainland of the Ocean Sea Known as the West Indies (Décadas)

This work was written by Antonio de Herrera y Tordesillas, journalist for Kings Philip II and Philip III of Spain. It was published in Madrid between 1601 and 1615. It was the most complete history of America written in the modern age, narrating the events of the Spanish sailors during their conquests of the American continent. It includes the story of Magellan and Elcano, and their voyage around the world.
