General Lieutenant Christoph Joachim Joseph Alexander Georg von Wulffen (1784–1861) takes command of the Prussian garrison in Luxembourg on August 11, 1842. His superior, Prince Frederick, describes him in 1847 as harsh but striving for balance. His fate is closely tied to the revolutionary events: his eldest son, Alfred Ordingello von Wulffen, Second Lieutenant in the Kaiser Alexander Grenadier Regiment (No. 1), falls in the street battles of Berlin on March 18, 1848.
