Erbaut 1915-17 von / Volkin-Werke / Hamburg Und Stettin Actiengesellschaft / Stettiner Niederlassung. Model represents / the / Emden, Karlsruhe Class. This model was captured in 1944 by the 43rd Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron, Mechanize, U.S. Third Army, when Troop B drove the Germans from the Forest of Cattenom near the Moselle River. The model was sent to FDR on October 7, 1944, by Lieutenant General George S. Patton, Jr., U.S. Army. Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library Museum Collection.
