German Pavillon is an Open Space

The guiding theme for this year´s Architecture Biennale was formulated by Director Alejandro Aravena as a call to partecipating architects and curators: "Reporting from the Front." The exhibition in the German Pavilion refers to this call in a twofold sense. On the one hand, the exhibition puts "reporting" front and center-that is, it dives right into reality of a report on the real conditions. On the other hand, it answers the question of whether there is a "front" in Germany worthy of being reported: namely, that Germany stands internationally for a refugee policy without precedent.
