Photograph of captured German soldiers "caged" in a prisoner of war camp. According to Tim Cook, a majority of German soldiers who surrendered to Canadian soldiers survived the war in prisoner of war camps, also called "cages." Prisoners of war were tangible proof that Canadians were successful on the battlefield.
