Plaster cast from a work of the Augustan age, from a type from 450 BC probably depicting Augustus as a young Hermes from a type of 450 BC preserved at the Louvre Museum. The Bolognese specimen, ascribable to the mid-eighteenth century, arrived in Bologna at the behest of Benedict XIV, thanks to the amazed agreement with the Venetian nobleman, and would therefore derive from the controcalco realized on that occasion.
