In its composition and in the attitude of the saint, the work reveals the influence of the Sant'Ambrogio del Cerano painting (1610, Milan, Pinacoteca Ambrosiana), while the luster of the fabrics, the free and loose brushstrokes show the influence of the Genoese school and of the paintings of Van Dyck.
