"In his sixth symphony, Ludwig van Beethoven describes the relationship between man and nature. It begins with serene feelings upon arrival in the country. Although Beethoven also paints birds and streams in music here, he does not want it to be understood as a musical painting: "More an expression of sensation than painting."

Beethoven loved nature. On his forays into the countryside, he always carried a notebook with him to record his ideas. Once he wrote: "How glad I am to be able to walk in bushes, woods, under trees, herbs, rocks, no one can love the country as I do - after all, forests, trees, rocks give the echo that man desires.
