The cast comprises only the front half of the head with the neck and collarbone, and therefore does not belong to the fully sculptural casts of ‘statue-like’ portraits of the king. The face displays [...] the characteristics typical of Akhenaten. The narrow cheeks, full lips, prominent chin, and triangular facial structure unequivocally identify the cast as a portrait of this king. This head lacks the expressive physiognomy well known from many statues and reliefs of the early years.Jung, M., in Im Licht von Amarna. 100 Jahre Fund der Nofretete, Staatliche Museen zu Berlin - Preußischer Kulturbesitz, F.
