Sumu Wildlife Park covers a land area of about 82km2 and is approximately 70km away from Bauchi town. The park was opened in 2006 as a partnership between Nigeria and the Namibian government. The Namibian government donated a total of 279 large animals to the Bauchi state government to support the state’s efforts at improving leisure, entertainment and tourism. Game in the park include giraffes, zebras, blue wildebeest and eland.
