The journey along the Nile continues. The Columbia passes several cities. Ida Uhse writes down her impressions:
“29th of Dec. Continued our voyage up the Nile passing through a changing landscape. On the one hand beautiful, and on the other desolate. “At 6:30 in the morning, we passed the city of Beni Suef, which has a large sugar and linen industry. In the evening we arrived at Girga, a beautifully situated city.”
