A 'grant book' signed by John J. Reynolds, confirming the purchase of Ashe's grave in Glasnevin. Reynolds was a Dublin accountant and a member of the IRB. The funeral of Thomas Ashe was organised by the IRB, who had previously organised the funeral of Jeremiah O’Donovan Rossa in Glasnevin Cemetery in August 1915, and who successfully turned Ashe's funeral into a large and elaborate spectacle of political theatre on the streets of Dublin and in Glasnevin Cemetery itself (Glasnevin Trust)
