The first funeral on 30 September 1917 was at 10.30am, when Augustine Dumay of 9 Belgrave Park, Rathmines, was buried in Glasnevin, having died of diabetes on 28 September. She was the wife of Leon Dumay, a 'master hairdresser' (according to the 1911 census) who later became a prominent member of Dublin's French community. This document confirms that the grave had been purchased and that her burial could go ahead (Glasnevin Trust).
