Glassmaker Taras Dzyndra is the inheritor of the glassmaking tradition, which has been known in Ukraine for at least 1,000 years: colored glass beads are still found in Scythian burials. During his youth period, Taras lived near the famous Lviv ceramic-sculpture experimental factory and observed how it was operating. This factory is an important center in the history of Ukrainian glassmaking. The first glass symposiums were held there. They are still held every three years keeping the tradition alive.
Working next to a constantly hot stove is not an easy task. What motivates Dzyndra to work with glass? This is "fresh" material, it dictates its own rules. "The glass suggests what's the best way.-the master explains. - You want to do it one way, but the glass leads in another direction. You have to listen to the material". Taras likes to work with color and experiment with technology, producing not only useful objects but also design decor elements.
