Glitch

“For a second it looked like my friend’s coffee glitched into the table.” A gesture to how our virtual imaginaries, based on video games and pixelated worlds, can hijack our perception of reality. In this moment of optical illusion, the mind instinctively reaches for familiar frames of reference, we find ourselves overlaying the logic of the digital world onto reality, assuming that the anomalies we encounter in the physical realm are alike to the bugs and glitches know from virtual environments.
