Gloria's Garden

Susan Branch2009

The National Quilt Museum

The National Quilt Museum
Paducah, United States

This quilt is a collaboration between daughter Susan Stewart and mother Gloria Meyer. Gloria chose the fabrics and pieced the quilt and Susan did all the digitized machine embroidery and quilting.

“It was very special for me to be able to share the excitement of winning this award with my mother,” writes Susan. “To make it even more wonderful, my daughter, Annie Pennington, created matching silver pins for Mom and me. The pins are modeled after one of the floral embroidery designs, and incorporate a tiny piece of one of the quilt fabrics. So it was a three-generation project!”
