The black satin gauntlet embroidered with gold and silver thread did not originally belong to the glove, but was later added in an antiquarian context, before entering the museum collections. The widely flared and curved shape of the gauntlet, with lace festoons, and a prominently in relief floral design, correspond to the sumptuous taste and rigorous Spanish attire, widely diffused at the beginning of the seventeenth century.
