London Transport published this poster in January 1938. It was designed by the prolific British artist Graham Sutherland to promote leisure travel. The newspaper clipping is from the Daily Express. The article encouraged readers to make the most of any winter sunshine and get out into the country. The article reads: 'Do not wait for Easter. It may be snowing. Do not wait for August. It will probably be raining. Is there fog in the town? There may be brilliant sunlight a few miles out'. The poster depicts a typewriter in a gloomy City interior, as though abandoned by the journalist running off to take his own advice.
