The Brazilian national team jersey worn by goalkeeper Valdir Peres of São Paulo F.C. during the 1982 World Cup. As a way of distinguishing them, goalkeepers must wear jerseys of a different color than those worn by outfield players, as well as the refereeing team. The design of goalkeeper jerseys also usually has its own characteristics, such as variations in pattern, arrangement of visual elements, and sleeve length, among others.
