Capra hircus or the domestic goat have been domesticated from wild goats around 10,000 years ago, making them one of the oldest domesticated animals. Goats are closely relate to sheep and live up to 18 years and weight as much as 140kg (300lbs). Today there are nearly 600 breeds of domestic goat.
