For archeology, ceramic vessels of this quality are among the most important key forms as they bear witness to contemporary tastes and local particularities. This goblet shaped vessel was made in the area of Tepe Salik. Thanks to academic excavations carried out in this area we know that this ceramic served as burial object. The stylized bodies of the ibexes, which alternate in a metope-like band with lozenges and chessboard patterns, are especially elegant.
