God Father's head

Carlo BononeSecond half of the 16th century - first half of the 17th century

Parma, Italy

The painting in question, at the bottom left, shows a sphere surmounted by the cross, which is an attribute of the Creator. It is an image that we do not find in Bonone's known repertoires, contrary to the one that goes with it, but which in any case seems to come from the study of Renian and Guercinesque sources.
