A bone figure of a goddess sits in the pose of a woman giving birth with her legs wide apart. It belongs to the circle of Egyptian magical figurines of the Greco-Roman era, which were associated with the cult of fertility. Similar figurines, but smaller in size, were often made of opaque glass, terracotta, and bronze. Some researchers associate them with the cult of the Great Goddess. Great female deity is the goddess who gave birth to the forces of nature, patroness of the whole Earth, endowed with chthonic features. She was revered by the population of the Northern Black Sea region for a long time. This was due to the fact that among the local tribes of the Bosporus the cult of female deity existed even in pre-Hellenic times. This mighty goddess is the mistress of all things, whom Hesychius of Alexandria calls the mother of the gods. Among the Greek population, this goddess was personified in the images of the Eleusinian goddesses — Demeter and Kore, Artemis, Aphrodite.
It is known that the woman who was buried in the mound of the Sokolova Grave belonged to the upper strata of the population and was, judging by everything, a priestess or sorceress. In addition to the figurine of the goddess, about 40 different amulets, a sacrificial knife with a whetstone, ritual pommels and tableware were found in her burial.
