This installation is a reference to the containers which were essentially used for shipping bananas all over the country. The yellow color used in the hieroglyphic text (sacred writing) dominates the dramatic composition.
The artists imagined the installation as something built by one of the indian tribes living in the area who have their own language which is far from the artist's understanding, hence the incomprehensible text.
Lek & Sowat have always been interested in destroying what they make, hence the texts and tags were erased with water right after being painted. This refers to the deconstruction of a capitalist society, which brings forth contrasts and issues such as poverty of the people who live in the area and the people who consume the goods that are brought to ICD.
