Gold diadem, ornamented with granulated and filigree decoration, applied rosettes and sphinxes. Diadems with added decorative elements were probably meant to be worn on festive occasions. It is among the best-known examples of the goldwork that flourished after the end of the Geometric period, as a result of the fruitful infusion of mythic motifs from the East. From Kos island, in the Dodecanese, second half of the 7th c. BC. L. 0.228 m. (ΓΕ 6242)
