This is the first truly Islamic gold coin, bearing Arabic inscriptions only. Obverse field: la ilaha illa Allah wadahu la sharika lahu; margin: Muhammad rasul Allah, followed by surah al-Tawbah (IX), verse 33, in part. Reverse field: surah al-Ikhlas (CXII), verses 1–3; margin: bism Allah, followed by denomination and date.
