BANG Byungsang (1970- ) looks into ways city dwellers lead their lives and the relationships they form with their surroundings in the present-day society. In his works the rapports between humans and their spaces—which is one of what one neglects to pay attention to—are reexamined through the keen observation of the urbanite’s ways to enjoy their leisure time and the surrounding landscapes of their everyday lives. Gold string of 1km is a wishful, ever-lasting landscape of hope that is given birth to by his endeavors of extending, repeating and editing the image of a real scenery in Paju.
