This Golden Eagle came from collection of Mr Samuel Prout Newcome. His collection was originally housed at Westminster library, but was transferred to Shoreditch Technical Institute in 1899, then to the London County Council and eventually to the Horniman Museum in 1905. Our records do not tell us exactly when and where the Eagle was collected.
